The SAR9 Now Comes with an Optic Ready Slide Configuration

At the recent Athlon Outdoors Rendezvous SAR USA announced a game-changer for its SAR9, with the addition of an optic ready slide. As a result, is a pistol that is upgraded for ideal home and personal defense. The upgrade is just the beginning for the popular platform, with more to come in the near future.

The SAR9 Optic Ready Pistol

Building on a polymer frame, the SAR9 optic ready is the standard SAR9 but with a cerakote finish. The grip features a 20-degree grip angle, for superior control and follow-up shots. Additionally instilling control through a proper fit, the grip panels are interchangeable, for a hand-filling experience. Correspondingly, the SAR9 provides your choice of three backstrap sizes.

Riding atop the frame is the forged steel slide, with forward and rear cocking serrations for enhanced manipulation. In addition, the updated slide features optic mounting screw holes for the addition of your choice of mini reflex sight. However, SAR will be releasing a version this year (2022) with an RMR cutout as well.

Chambered in 9mm, a forged steel barrel sits within the slide and locks up tight when in battery. Rounds are sent downrange via a striker-fired action, which is actuated with a 6-pound trigger pull. The trigger pull is clean, and the reset length is minimal, with a positive tactile feel.

Just forward of the trigger guard is a three-slot Picatinny rail for the addition of lights or other optics. In addition, the trigger safety works together with the ambidextrous manual safety, preventing accidental discharge.

The SAR9 ships with your choice of two 17- or 10-round magazines, depending on the laws in your state.
