Savage Arms announced the release of its newest bolt-action, centerfire hunting rifle, one built to go after any North American big game. The Savage 110 Ultralite Elite comprises a premium rifle package, utilizing top-end components blended into a lightweight package.

The heart of any good rifle is the barrel. This one goes above and beyond. Savage teamed up with PROOF Research to design a purpose-built version of PROOF’s famed carbon fiber-wrapped stainless steel barrels. The barreled action then fits into an MDT chassis. An HNT26 folding, carbon fiber stock adds even more to the utility of this platform.

Built to go up the mountain, the 110 Ultralite Elite tips the scales at a mere 5 pounds. The folding buttstock also reduces overall length by 9 inches folded, making it suitable for working into your pack setup. The carbon fiber wrapped stainless steel barrel saves weight over other rifle types, but still delivers on the accuracy. Finally, the components and finish are designed to handle the most extreme weather conditions.
