When determining whether or not Savage Arm’s new BMAG Heavy Barrel is the right firearm for you, you need to ask yourself two questions:
- Are you a rimfire shooter?
- Do you like the idea of firing the fastest rimfire cartridge on the planet?
If the answer is “yes,” then you’re going to want to take a serious look at the Savage BMAG Heavy Barrel.
The BMAG Heavy Barrel is an extension of the BMAG Rifle from Savage that was introduced in 2013. The BMAG is chambered in .17 Winchester Super Magnum, which at 3,000 feet-per-second is the fastest-shooting rimfire cartridge in the world.
The new Heavy Barrel model obviously comes equipped with a stainless heavy barrel to squeeze out every bit of range from the .17WSM cartridge.
The Savage BMAG Heavy Barrel has a barrel length of 22 inches with an overall length of 40 inches and a weight of 5 pounds.
Like most Savage firearms, the BMAG Heavy Barrel comes with the adjustable AccuTrigger technology, which gives the shooter the flexibility to set the trigger pull to an individual preference without sacrificing safety.
The BMAG Heavy Barrel features an eight-round, detachable rotary magazine. The rimfire is also drilled and tapped for scope mounts with bases included.
A synthetic black matte finished stock rounds out the BMAG Heavy Barrel for the perfect look.
The BMAG Heavy Barrel is currently shipping with an MSRP of $408.
