Savage Arms just announced the formation of new line of rifles, the Backcountry Xtreme Series. Based on the classic Model 110, the launch brings two new rifles to market as well. The 110 Ultralight Camo and 110 Timberline join several previous lightweight, purpose-built bolt guns.
Savage Backcountry Xtreme Series
“The Model 110 has been evolving for more than six decades,” said Jessica Treglia, Sr. Brand Manager at Savage Arms. “That’s longer than any other bolt-action rifle in production. The new Backcountry Xtreme Series is building on this legacy. These rifles mark the apex of the 110’s incredible journey. These rifles are more capable than any 110’s we’ve ever built. They feature protective finishes, innovative product features, and the best of our patented technologies. These rifles have premium features added and can do it all. The Backcountry Xtreme Series shows what it means to be Savage.”
The Backcountry Xtreme Series rifles feature several 110 components. The AccuTrigger remains, giving shooters pull weights as low as 1.5 pounds. Savage’s AccuStock, with AccuFit customization, adds more utility.
The 110 Ultralight Camo features a PROOF Research carbon-fiber-wrapped stainless steel barrel. A melonite skeletonized receiver helps keep weight down even further. The KUIU Verde 2.0 camo provides concealment.
The 110 Timberline delivers accuracy via a fluted barrel and target crown. An omni-port muzzlebrake helps tame recoil. The rifle utilizes three-dimensional attachment along the action’s entire length. An OK Green Cerakote finish on the barrel, receiver and critical parts helps provide corrosion resistance.
