Savage Renegauge Adds Drilled and Tapped Receivers for Optics

We now live in the age of the reflex optic, and it’s officially on everything. From a secondary rifle optic to primary on concealed carry pistols, mini reflex sights now dominate the firearms landscape. Hunting shotguns are picking up steam as well. Now the Savage Renegauge joins a growing list of optic-ready shotgun platforms.

Savage Renegauge Shotguns

Savage Arms recently announced its newest firearm — the company’s very first semi-automatic shotgun — the Savage RENEGAUGE. The new semi-automatic 12-gauge shotguns utilize a Dual Regulating Inline Valve (D.R.I.V.) gas system. Savage offers two models, aimed at both hunting and competition markets.

Platform Details

“RENEGAUGE is unlike any other semi-automatic shotgun, and demonstrates our commitment to innovate as an independent company,” said Al Kasper, President and CEO. “This project has been in the works for years because we wanted to enter a new category in a big way. The team in place now did an amazing job getting this to the finish line. Hunters and shooters are going to be amazed with the fit, feel, function and versatility of this shotgun. And it’s a platform we can and will build on—so look for more in the very near future.”

RENEGAUGE functions and cycles everything from light loads to magnum field loads, reliably and consistently, according to Savage. Designed as an all-around shotgun, the RENEGAUGE must work with ammo serving wing shooters, hunters and competitors.

The D.R.I.V. system provides RENEGAUGE the ability to regulate gas. Both lower-power target shells and Magnum hunting shells will cycle the action with the same reliability, and without any adjustment from the shooter.

The RENEGAUGE also provides comb height and length of pull adjustment. This allows shooter’s to customize the fit of the gun to their individual size.
