On Tuesday, American Tactical announced it had began offering the new Schmeisser S60 Polymer Magazine. Approximately 48 hours later, they were all gone.
Good news is, they’re back in stock.
Breaking Down the Schmeisser S60
We broke news on the German-made magazine back in February when it was first announced. For those unfamiliar with it, the S60 is a 60-round, polymer stick magazine designed for AR-15s. The base is a quad stack that funnels into a double stack and feeds from there.
The S60 funnels via a very powerful high tension spring. American Tactical noted the spring in a cautionary note: “Please use caution if disassembling the magazine for maintenance. If not properly secured, spring may eject from magazine when floor plate is removed and can cause serious injury.”
Chambered in 5.56/.223 for the AR-15/M4 platform, the S60 is the world’s first patented 60-round polymer stick magazine, according to its manufacturer. We know SureFire has its 60-rounder, but that’s made of aluminum. Again, the Schmeisser S60 is polymer.
