WATCH: First Range Time With the Semi-Auto Remington V3 Tac-13

The first week of October — about two weeks before its launch — we got our first taste of the Remington V3 Tac 13 at the 2018 Athlon Outdoors Rendezvous. The new firearm falls in that Mossberg Shockwave spectrum.

We’ll start with the barrel length. If you couldn’t figure it out, the Tac-13 has a 13-inch, light-contour barrel.Why is barrel size relevant? Because like its 14-inch predecessor — the Tac-14 — the all-new Tac-13 is NFA compliant. That’s pretty sweet size overall.

The second attention-grabbing detail is that its semi-auto; that’s an attractive feature to just about anyone.

Ballistic contributor Lauren Young tested the V3 Tac-13 at the Athlon Outdoors Rendezvous. She said, “I was apprehensive about my own ability and comfortability with this particular model. However, thanks to Remington’s design and a great deal of thought that went into creating the Tac-13, I handled it and it did not handle me.”
