Shoot United is a new initiative from Winchester to introduce more people to the shooting sports. With more than 60 million people participating in the shooting sports every year, Shoot United aims to “to promote all that’s wholesome and healthful about the shooting sports and responsible firearm ownership.”
The Importance of Shoot United
Participation in the shooting sports is at an all time high. However, many of the new gun owners and people curious about buying a gun don’t come from traditional “firearms friendly” backgrounds. For generations, gun owners were introduced to safety and gun handling by their parents. That’s not always the case in this day and age. The goal of this initiative is to create content that’s easily accessible for people just starting out on their shooting journey. It includes content around gun safety, as well as places to shoot, and starting off in different shooting sports.
Who Launched Shoot United?
Winchester Ammunition, one of the world’s leading ammunition manufacturers, is driving the initiative. Winchester believes that participants in the shooting sports are more activated and engaged. 2020 added 8 million new gun owners, and 2021 has added at least 3. Winchester is creating a platform where those new gun owners can find information to help them convert their gun ownership into a lifelong passion for the shooting sports. Additionally, current shooters can use the initiative to share their love of the shooting sports with others.
