A homeowner in northeast Harris County, Texas opened fire on two armed burglars after they kicked in his front door.
According to the Houston Chronicle, the incident occurred around 4:10 a.m. Tuesday morning at a home located in the 14100 block of Merry Meadow. Sgt. J. McCaffrey of the Harris County Constable’s Office Precinct 3 said a family was asleep when the suspects busted the door open and began firing.
Fortunately, the homeowner — who was asleep on the couch at the time — woke up, managed to grab his handgun and opened fire. He shot 10 rounds at the home invaders.
The two suspects quickly fled the scene and piled into a blue sedan driven by a third suspect. The homeowner gave chase, but they got away.
No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
