Editor’s Take

We’ve been all in on the SIG Cross platform since we first saw it before its debut in 2019. Since then, we’ve watched the line mature, with mission-specific variants emerging for everything from hunting to precision rifle matches. From the Cross STX to the Cross PRS, the platform continues to deliver. We even hauled one all over the Appalachian Mountains to see how it performed truly in the wild.

Adding a couple of short-action calibers to a specific build on the platform doens’t contstinute some great advancement. But instead it chronicles another step in the continued, full expansion of the line. We’re witnessing the birth a truly full rifle line, maybe even like the Model 70 or Rem 700 back in their days. And that’s pretty cool to us.
