The SIG M17 Air Pistol Is a Solid CO2 Replica of the US Army Model

SIG Sauer released its P320 M17 earlier in 2018. The pistol is a civilian variant of SIG’s U.S. Army service pistol. Now the manufacturer has taken it one step further with the just-announced SIG M17 Air Pistol.

Army Similarities

The new CO2-powered M17 air pistol falls into SIG’s Advanced Sport Pellet (ASP) line of airguns. How similar is it to the U.S. Army-issued version? Well, caliber aside, it’s really not far off.

The semi-automatic .177 caliber pellet pistol is field strippable like its centerfire counterpart. It also has the same look and feel as the M17, featuring a polymer frame and metal slide with realistic blow-back action.

The proprietary drop magazine houses a 20-round Rapid Pellet Magazine (RPM). It also features a 12g COcartridge, which has a patented cam lever loading port for quick and easy replacement of the COcartridge.

The M17 ASP pistol weighs 2.15 pounds. The sights are fixed with a white dot front sight and the accessory rail allows easy mounting of a laser or tactical flashlight.

Velocity hits up to 430 fps; however, velocity results may vary depending on pellet weight, temperature and altitude.

The pistol is available in Coyote Tan.

“It handles exceptionally well, is fun and accurate to shoot, and a very effective training tool, especially with the drop magazine for quick reloading,” said Joseph Huston, Vice President and General Manager of SIG AIR. “Current M17 owners will also appreciate that it field strips like the U.S. Army M17 pistol.”

MSRP on the new pistol is $139.99, but SIG currently has it listed at $119.99.
