After two full years of competitive shooting with SIG SAUER’S SDI Comp Rifle, Team SIG’s Daniel Horner has refined the platform to meet his competition needs and developed the ultimate 3-Gun rifle, the new M400-DH3 from SIG Custom Works.
The M400 DH3 is the First SIG Custom Works Rifle

Editor’s Thoughts
If there’s one person you want to design your competition rifle, it’s Daniel Horner. Making a list of the major multi-gun matches that he’s won would end up being a 1500 word article just listing matches. He served an illustrious career with the Army Marksmanship Unit, and now he’s over at SIG winning championships.
The M400 DH3 itself looks like a great rifle with loads of features. For example, including a Timmy trigger in the package is a great choice. Also, having ambi controls means it will be easier to switch shoulders with this rifle. Some of the multi-gun stages have tight corners, and being able to run the gun on your support shoulder is important. Lastly, the stock is a nice touch. A fully adjustable stock means you can tweak it to exactly the right height and length of pull for your optic/mount choice.
Interestingly, the SIG M400 DHS is kind of alone in its segment. None of the big name AR manufacturers are offering a competition-ready gun out of the box right now. The closest thing to a competitor rifle is the Ruger AR-556 MPR. However, there’s no info as of yet on the new SIG rifle’s MSRP. So, it’s tough to say whether the Ruger is really in its competitive-set. It’s likely the M400 DH3 will also cost a bit more than the Ruger.
Finally, if you’re looking for a ready to rock competition rifle out of the box, the SIG M400 DH3 looks like the answer.
