SIG P320 AXG Classic: SIG Goes Back to Roots With Walnut Grips

SIG Sauer is a machine that simply never stops creating. Firearms, optics, ammo — the list goes on and on. While 2020 was a garbage year for the most part, there were a few bright spots. One of those was SIG announcing its P320 FCU and Custom Works program. Now, we have our first look at the latest entry from the SIG Custom Works program: the SIG P320 AXG Classic.

After the FCU, SIG gave us its first Custom Works entry back in October 2020 with the P320 AXG Scorpion. The AXG Scorpion features an aluminum frame with a beautiful FDE finish and custom Hogue G10 Piranha grip panels.

Next from Custom Works came the SIG 1911 Equinox. Limited to 500, the 1911 Equinox featured a black anodized metal frame and also a Nitron stainless steel slide.

Lastly in the group of Custom Works releases is the SIG P320 MAX. Topped with a ROMEO3MAX optic, the competition-ready P320 MAX was designed in partnership with pro shooter Max Michel.

SIG P320 AXG Classic Details

This brings us to the brand-new SIG P320 AXG Classic, which is an absolute beauty. As anything with the word “classic” denotes, SIG went old-school on this one in terms of appearance. The standout feature is the custom Hogue walnut grips with a matching insert in the back. It really makes the pistol pop. SIG also opted to include a curved trigger to reinforce that “old-school” feel.

The P320 AXG Classic is a striker-fired 9mm pistol. Since it’s part of the Custom Works brand, it comes optics-ready with X-RAY3 Day/Night Sights. The pistol also features SIG’s latest-designed slide and three 17-round magazines. Meanwhile, MSRP comes in at $1,329.99, but it can likely be found for $1,199.99. And that’s pretty much that.
