It has been just over a year since SIG Sauer introduced its P320 Spectre Comp (original story below). Due to the built-in compensator, the 30% reduction in recoil was a hit with shooters. However, some prefer a more subtle aesthetic, whether for tactical reasons or just personal preference. For this reason, SIG Sauer introduces its Blackout edition of the popular P320 Spectre Comp.
The SIG Sauer P320 Spectre Comp Blackout Edition
Anyone familiar with the original P320 Spectre Comp will notice that not much has changed with the Blackout. One noticeable difference is the TXG tungsten-infused grip module with Cerakote Elite Series Blackout coating. However, the combination of blackout coating and laser stippling causes the grey of the original grip to show through. As a result, the grip features a nice, two-tone look.
Likewise, the slide also features the SIG Custom Works Spectre Blackout coating to add to the overall blackout aesthetic. In addition, the 4.6-inch threaded barrel features a Nitron appearance in place of the titanium nitride gold barrel. Like the barrel, the XSeries flat skeletonized trigger is also blacked out, minus the titanium nitride gold finish.
It is worth noting that the Blackout treatment also comes at an upgrade in price point. The original P320 Spectre Comp has an MSRP of $1,399.99, while the Blackout is $1,549.00.
As a SIG Custom Works pistol, the Blackout has the same enhanced feature set as the original. So, if you would like more information on the rest of the features of the P320 Spectre Comp line, read the original story below.
On March 8, 2022, PDW reported:
It is times like these that make it really hard to be a gun writer. My pocketbook just can’t take the temptation. It seems like every time something new comes out from SIG Sauer, I have to restrain myself. I don’t think I can adequately explain to my wife why we’re living out of a truck full of guns. Although, maybe if she sees the new P320 Spectre Comp from SIG Sauer, she would understand.
The SIG Sauer P320 Spectre Comp
It’s barely over a month since SIG introduced the P365XL Spectre Comp and now they add the larger frame P320. As a result, comes the ultimate P320 for competition or concealed carry.
The polymer frame features a laser-stippled LXG Tungsten XSERIES grip module for enhanced grip in any situation. Likewise, the optics-ready slide has custom cocking serrations for easy manipulation, even under stress. The slide also enshrouds the titanium nitride gold barrel with an integrated compensator. In addition, sitting atop the slide and compensator are X-RAY 3 day/night sights.
Chambered in 9mm, rounds are sent downrange via the XSERIES gold flat skeleton trigger. Two included 21-round steel magazines keep the Spectre well fed. However, 10-round magazines are available for those that live in prohibitive states.
“The P320 SPECTRE Comp builds on the ingenuity of the popular P320 XFIVE LEGION and brings a new level of technology to the 9mm polymer pistol. The P320 SPECTRE Comp adds the signature SIG Custom Works LXG treatment for better grip of the patented XSERIES TXG tungsten infused polymer grip module and a full custom works design treatment,” said Tom Taylor, Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Vice President, Commercial Sales, SIG SAUER, Inc.
“However, what takes this P320 to the next level in performance is the Sig Custom Works designed compensator resulting in a 30% decrease in recoil from the already flat shooting experience of the P320 XFIVE LEGION. The XRay3 front sight is dovetailed directly to the compensator which dramatically improves sight recovery for each shot. Finished in a Blackout Cerakote® Elite coating, the compensator seamlessly blends with the custom slide finish and serrations resulting in an elegant look with P320 XFIVE LEGION holster compatibility.”
