A couple of weeks ago, Sig Sauer celebrated the 4th of July in style with its “1911 We The People” full-size handgun. Now, the New Hampshire-based gun maker is adorning its P938 and P238 pistols with the same patriotic flourishes.

Like the original 1911 model, the “P938 We The People” and “P238 We The People” both come with custom aluminum grips adorned with 50 stars—25 on each side—representing each state in the union. A distressed finish on the stainless steel slide and frame sports patriotic engravings, including 13 stars atop the slide and the words “WE THE PEOPLE” on the slide flats.
These new guns are designed to commemorate our nation’s history and the Second Amendment, but make no mistake, they’re both ready to rock for modern day use. Built for concealed carry, the “P938 We The People” is chambered in 9mm and features a three-inch barrel; OA length of 5.9 inches; a width of 1.1 inches; and a height and weight of 3.9 inches and 16 ounces, respectively. It also includes a single-action trigger, ambidextrous safety and low-profile high contrast sights. Finally, it packs packs six plus one rounds of 9mm.
Meanwhile, the subcompact .380 ACP “P238 We The People” offers the same accuracy and reliability as Sig’s larger frame models. It sports an overall length of just 5.5 inches, a height of 3.9 inches, and weight of 15.2 ounces. The barrel length is 2.7 inches. Like the P938 model, it sports low-profile high contrast sights. The sear and trigger return spring are redesigned to prevent spring over-ride of the ejector during assembly, Sig says.
MSRP for the “P938 We The People” is $772, while the “P238 We The People” is available starting at $728.
