The SIG Sauer ROMEO-X Series is Battlefield Ready for Civilians

SIG Sauer Electro-Optics has a couple of new red dot sights in its stable with the ROMEO-X Series. The series contains two new optics, with one for micro-compact pistols and one for full-size pistols. And each offers a tough construction and continuous 20,000 runtime at medium brightness.

Constructed of 7075 aircraft-grade aluminum, the optics feature machined anti-reflection grooves on shooter-facing surfaces. Inspired by the MIL-SPEC ROMEO-M17, the ROMEO-X Series uses the same technology and testing standards to withstand hard use. Likewise, each model has an IPX7 waterproof rating and can withstand submersion in one meter of water for half an hour.

The optics utilize distortion-free aspheric glass and a patent-pending Beryllium Copper flexure-arm adjustment system. Correspondingly, they incorporate a high-efficiency point source red LED emitter. Additionally, the user-selectable reticle features a 2 MOA Dot, 32 MOA Circle, or both for positive target acquisition.

Providing a runtime of 20,000 hours on medium, the optics operate on a single CR1632 battery. Likewise, MOTAC™ (Motion Activated Illumination), MAGNETAC™ (Magnetic Activation), and D.A.R.C™ (Dark Adaptive Reticles & Coatings) technologies help preserve battery life. Similarly, 15 illumination settings, with 12 day and 3 night vision settings, let you dial in the perfect brightness and limit power usage.

The side battery replacement feature helps maintain a low deck height, so the optics can co-witness with standard-height iron sights. Similarly, this helps with battery replacement without removing the optic and re-zeroing each time. Additionally, the rear of the Compact has a backup rear iron sight for pistols that the rear sight is removed with the cover plate.
