Back in 2021 we reported on the Wraith 4K Mini 2-16×32 riflescope from Sightmark (original story below). The sight boasted cutting-edge digital technology, enhancing the hunting experience in high-definition clarity—day or night. Due to the popularity of the 4K Mini Sightmark has taken the line to the next level with the addition of the Mini 2-16×32 Thermal Riflescope.
The Sightmark Wraith Mini Thermal Riflescope
The Wraith Mini Thermal follows on the popularity of the 4K Mini digital riflescope. Featuring a rugged aluminum construction, the Mini Thermal is ready for any environment your hunt takes you. Likewise, the 6.653”x3.031”x2.913” footprint provides the latest thermal technology in a package that won’t overburden your rifle.
Featuring a user-friendly step-through menu, the Mini Thermal is ideal for anyone who needs quick access to important information. Likewise, the menu helps you quickly take advantage of the onboard recording, and other features on its 1024×768 digital display. In addition, the 384×288 microbolometer thermal sensor exposes hard-to-see elements on the digital display.
With ten reticles to choose from, the Mini Thermal provides five different color display palettes and a wide array of reticle colors. The color display palettes include White Hot, Black Hot, Green Hot, Rainbow, and Magenta.
Similarly, it boasts a 17-micron pixel pitch and 2-16x digital zoom. Including storage for up to five firearm profiles, the Mini Thermal provides quick, easy transitions across multiple rifle platforms. Correspondingly, switching between profiles is simple, via the Picatinny mounting platform.
The scope operates on two CR123A batteries, offering 3.5 – 4.5 hours of operation, depending on video recording and other factors. However, it is compatible with Lithium-ion power banks like the Sightmark Picatinny rail-compatible Mini QD battery pack. As a result, you can extend your hunt for as long as you would like.
Finally, the Mini Thermal has a detection range of 1,000 yards for long-range target acquisition.
Availability and MSRP are located after the story below.
“Our Wraith line has been extremely successful,” said James Sellers, Sellmark Founder and CEO. “We wanted to take the next step in providing hunters with solutions that are efficient, effective, and intuitive.”
On October 18, 2021, TL reported:
How many times have you had the big one get away and your supposed “friends” didn’t believe you? Well, not anymore. With the new Sightmark Wraith 4K Mini 2-16×32 Digital Riflescope you can get it all on tape—day or night. In glorious high-definition clarity, as well.
The Wraith 4K Mini 2-16×32 Digital Riflescope
Boasting cutting-edge technology, Sightmark releases its ultramodern scope for day or night hunting, whether it’s big game or invasive species. Housed in a solid aluminum body is the 4K (3840×2160) CMOS sensor. As a result, the 4K Mini can detect objects up to 300 yards, even in the darkest of nights.
Unlike a traditional scope, the image retrieved by the Wraith is displayed on a full color 1280×720 FLOS screen. During the day, images are displayed in full color 4K digital, while at night it displays high-resolution digital night vision imaging.
The 2-16×32 magnification allows video recording capabilities, including audio. Correspondingly, you can record approximately 1.75 hours video with a 64gb SD card on 4K@30 quality. The maximum supported memory card size is 256gb.
With 14 reticles (10 SFP, 4 FFP), you can select which works best for you. Additionally, 9 color options allow you to choose the color that works best with the current environment and ambient lighting. Furthermore, the windage and elevation adjustments have a click value of 1 pixel/~X0.4MOA. The adjustment range for elevation is ~ 150 MOA and windage is ~ 350 MOA.
The Wraith features 3-foot shockproof construction and is water resistant to a rating of IPX6 (protection against high pressure water). Its rugged construction is also capable of handling recoil up to .308. However, for those in the northeast, the operational temperatures range from 32F to 140F (0 to 60C). This isn’t necessarily a deal breaker but is worth noting.
The Wraith 4K runs on two CR123A batteries and provides 3.6 hours in video and 4.4 hours in preview mode. Similarly, the IR-illuminator also runs on two CR123A batteries and has a runtime of 2 hours, on high.
