SilencerCo Omega 36M: The Most Modular Suppressor We’ve Ever Seen

I’ve long been skeptical and no fan of modular or multi-caliber suppressors. Why? I always felt like something was missing in their overall design, although they supposedly offered “more” than your standard .30 caliber suppressor. But advancements have made them better and a prime example this is the new SilencerCo Omega 36M.

SilencerCo Omega 36M Details

The Omega has two basic parts: A front portion which is made of 17-4 stainless steel and a rear portion that is made of Stellite. The rear portion gets the brunt of the punishment and the Stellite or “Cobalt 6” handles it better.

The front and rear sections mean you can tailor the overall length to whatever your “mission” requirements are. And through some voodoo magic, the Omega 36M maintains hearing safe numbers in all calibers from 9mm up to 338 Lapua Magnum both in long and short form. This is impressive to say the least.

With the caliber versatility, it’s a must that you hook up the 36M to a myriad of host weapons. Also, with the removable rear end cap you can utilize four types of attachments, including their ASR type, tri-lug, piston-type for pistols, and my favorite, direct thread; this makes the Omega 36M incredibly versatile.

With all this it still remains fairly lightweight at 16.5 ounces in its heaviest trim. It’s also 9.2 ounces in its lightest and shortest configuration. The Omega 36M is also sturdy with a minimal barrel rating of 10.5 inches for 5.56 NATO, 16 inches for .308, and 20 inches for both Win Mag and 338 Lapua—have mercy on us.

Having shot the Omega 36M quite a bit, I can’t complain about it. It sounds good and makes for a pleasant range session no matter what lead spitter you bring. MSRP is $1,187. For more information, please visit SilencerCo.com.

Lastly, a bonus feature of me making music with the Omega 36M on all six guns I tested it with. No need to thank me, but you’re welcome.
