SK Customs Expands its Early Italian Renaissance Series with the Raphaello

Joining the Michelangelo and Da Vinci, the Raphaello is the latest in the SK Customs Early Italian Renaissance Series. Done in collaboration with Springfield Armory, each 1911 in the series has a limited run of 250. Designed to showcase the artwork of historical artists, the series represents an iconic era in Italian history.

As with the rest of the Italian Renaissance series, the Raphaello uses a Springfield Armory 1911, chambered in .45 ACP, as its canvas. The semi-polished finish on the frame and slide flats is set off by a high-polished barrel and 24K gold plating throughout. In addition, proprietary color conversion engineering creates highly reflective, permanent pastel rose accents throughout the slide.

The right side of the slide features an illustration of “The Three Graces,” drawn to attention via 24K gold plating. Surrounding the artwork is a 24K gold frame filled with intricate scrollwork, capped by pastel rose highlights. The rear of the slide, behind the cocking serrations, is the special edition number xxx of 250 framed in gold.

On the left side of the slide is a depiction of Rephaello’s “The Miraculous Drought of Fishes,” highlighted in 24K gold plating. Additionally, like the right side, the illustration is framed in gold and intricate scrollwork with pastel rose endcaps. The rear of the slide, behind the cocking serrations, continues the scrollwork framed in gold.

Atop the slide is a portrait of Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino framed in gold, with scrollwork finishing down to the ejection port. Correspondingly, an engraved depiction of the artist’s signature is above the portrait. Sitting between the rear dovetail sight and the ejection port is “The Garvagh Madonna,” highlighted and framed in gold.

Finally, gold accents in the controls, hammer, select pins, and barrel bushing complete the pistol. Likewise, genuine imported Italian olivewood grip panels with engraved and hand-painted fleur de lis round out the aesthetic.
