Smith & Wesson has introduced a new version of its popular Bodyguard 38 revolver.

According to the presser, Smith’s latest wheelgun removes the integrated Crimson Trace laser found on the older model. It also sports a gray, polymer grip, as opposed to the one-piece synthetic black grip on the standard Bodyguard.
“For 2018, we’ve introduced a new, non-laser version of the M&P Bodyguard 38 revolver. With a new, gray polymer grip and updated styling, the M&P Bodyguard 38 provides a great value to our customers. This new model has a gray polymer grip and updated styling to provide our customers with a new revolver option for personal protection,” said Jan Mladek, general manager of Smith & Wesson and M&P brands.
Chambered in .38 S&W Special +P, the new Bodyguard 38 is double action only for a smooth trigger pull. It features a 1.875-inch stainless steel barrel and lightweight, one-piece aluminum alloy upper frame. It also includes a pinned, black ramp front sight; serrated ambidextrous cylinder release; and a five-round, stainless steel, PVD-coated cylinder. The overall length is 6.6 inches, and it weighs in at 14.2 ounces.
This updated Bodyguard 38 is available for just $385, which is $154 cheaper than the laser-equipped standard Bodyguard.
