S&W M&P M2.0 10mm Performance Center Model Joins M&P Line

Diehard Smith & Wesson fans waited a long time for the 10mm cartridge to ever join the M&P line, as it did a couple of years ago in the M&P M2.0. But those same lovers of the 10mm don’t have to wait nearly as long for an upgrade. Today Smith & Wesson announced the release of the S&W M&P M2.0 10mm Performance Center.

The M&P M2.0 Performance Center 10mm features a ported 5.6-inch barrel, reducing muzzle rise. It comes optics-ready and includes optic-height tritium night sights. A M2.0 trigger, C.O.R.E plate system, interchangeable palm swells and two, 15-round magazines round out this impressive package.

The new Performance Center 10mm was conceived with both the hunter and target shooter in mind,” said John Myles, Senior Manager of New Products, Smith & Wesson. “The goal was to build upon the M2.0 10mm series, with the intention of having reduced felt recoil and quicker follow-up shots. Popular features previously seen on other 5.6-inch PC pistols are present in this design and, when paired with the flat-shooting 10mm Auto cartridge, provide the end user a total package for hunting, self-defense, or at the range.”

Smith & Wesson finally dropped the big news many have been waiting for. The new S&W M&P M2.0 now adds the vaunted 10mm cartridge, delivering an enhanced platform and hard-hitting cartridge in one package.

The new 10mm comes with enhanced features, including an optics cut slide with the C.O.R.E. system. It enables users to mount a variety of popular optics. The pistol also delivers a 15+1 overall capacity, shipping with two magazines. A new flat face trigger helps optimize trigger finger placement for more consistent and accurate shooting, according to S&W.

“Having not made a 10mm semi-automatic hand gun since the 1990’s, it’s a pleasure to re-enter that space with the M&P10mm M2.0 pistol,” said Joh Myles, Senior New Product Manager, Smith & Wesson. “The 10mm caliber has its own following, and our customers have been asking us to bring one back. We are excited to launch this product using the M&P45 M2.0 as a building block to support existing aftermarket accessories that are readily available, as well as adding new enhanced features like the optics ready slide and the new M2.0 flat face trigger.”

The new 10mm M&Ps come purpose-built, with the user in mind, according to S&W. They include M2.0 features and come with or without an ambidextrous thumb safety. Smith & Wesson will offer a shorter 4-inch configuration, allowing for quicker clearance of the holster. Meanwhile, a slightly longer 4.6-inch 10mm M2.0 delivers an 18-degree grip angle. It comes with four interchangeable palmswell grip inserts and enhanced grip texture for recoil management.

The new 10mm M&P M2.0 comes well apppointed.
