Coming in at a sub $400 price point, Smith & Wesson introduces its budget-friendly SD9 2.0. Not only did the company shave some of the cost from the original SD series, but it even provided some enhancements. Specifically, the newest model in the line features an updated trigger and slide serrations.

Like the rest of the SD line, the SD9 2.0 builds on a polymer frame and grip. As a result, the pistol weighs a lightweight 22.7 ounces for comfortable all-day concealed carry. Likewise, stippled front and backstraps and textured grip panels help with retention during courses of fire. Similarly, the emphasized beavertail grip promotes a high, ergonomic grip while preventing slide bite.

Each side of the grip features a stippled indexing point to aid in consistent presentation. In addition, a two-slot Picatinny rail sits just forward of the trigger guard for adding a light or laser. Although the slide stop is left side only, the reversible magazine release and ambidextrous takedown lever offer right- or left-handed operation.

The updated slide features more aggressive forward and rear slide serrations, providing enhanced manipulation. Likewise, the top includes full-length serrations to help reduce glare and enhance the overall aesthetic. Providing the aim point are dovetail front and rear 3-dot white dot sights. However, there is no optic cut.

A 4-inch stainless steel barrel, chambered in 9mm, sits within the slide. Correspondingly, a new enhanced flat-faced trigger gives better feedback during the pull, break, and reset when shooting the striker-fired pistol. Available in your choice of 10 or 16-round capacity, the SD9 2.0 comes with one magazine.
