Bravo Company Manufacturing (BCM) has teamed up with renowned Travis Haley to produce the 5.56mm HSP Jack carbine, which is upgraded way beyond mil-spec with plenty of performance enhancements. In the September 2013 issue of Tactical Weapons, author Len Waldron gets his hands on the Jack and puts it through its paces.
Some of the gun’s upgrades include the BCM Gunfighter charging handle and compensator, an SMR rail system, a B5 Systems SOPMOD Bravo stock, a crisp and predictable trigger from ALG Defense and a custom Disruptive Grey Cerakote finish. As Waldron writes, “The BCM Jack comes out of the box as a clean, tight and elegant system” and “the Disruptive Grey finish offers a distinctive but subdued look.”
But this carbine is more than just looks—it was born to perform. Haley himself says, “The Jack is not a signature piece or a collector’s item. It is a tool that gives the operator options wrapped in the reliability and confidence of a mil-spec package.” So how did it fare during Waldron’s test-fire?
