Sneak Peek: Diamondback’s New Big-Bore DB10E in 7.62mm NATO

Diamondback Firearms’ American-made AR-platform rifles and pistols have quickly become popular thanks to their reliability, accuracy and quality. The DB15 series is made in Diamondback’s facility using state-of-the-art CNC machines and some of the finest materials.

New for 2015 is the DB10 series, bringing this same quality to .308/7.62mm NATO AR rifles.

Made with billet-crafted upper and lower receivers, the DB10 series is initially available in two models, the DB10 and DB10E, which both use high-quality, 18-inch barrels with 1-in-10-inch twist rates as well as CMC’s excellent single-stage, 3.5-pound triggers.

The DB10 features a collapsible stock, an A2-style flash suppressor and a Magpul MOE pistol grip, while the DB10E adds a Magpul PRS stock and an Ergo grip. Capping the DB10E’s barrel is a JPRTRE-424 compensator from JP Enterprises.

I recently tested the DB10E, and it proved itself on the range. It was very accurate, smooth operating and fast on target. The JP Enterprises compensator kept things under control, even during rapid-fire strings.

I tested the rifle with a Leupold Mark 6 scope, and the Horus H59 reticle made it easy to hit targets at various distances. Weighing in at 10.5 pounds, the DB10E remained handy yet capable of long-range accuracy.
