SNEAK PEEK: Kershaw Camp 10

Kershaw’s Camp 10 is built with the intention of being able to any task at home base or in the woods. The 10-inch blade gives the knife the appearance of a machete, but Tactical Knives’ Brian Griffin decided to take the Camp 10 on an extended outdoor field test for a full review in the March 2014 issue of TK.

Griffin put the Camp 10 to work clearing small saplings from the tree line to prepare a suitable campsite, and came away impressed with the results. “Sliding my hand rearward against the palm swell, and using full-power diagonal slashes, the knife sliced cleanly through saplings up to 1 inch in diameter in a single blow,” noted Griffin. “For a chopper with only a 10-inch blade length, the Camp 10 proved to be a capable trail blazer.”

Another camp test found Griffin putting the Camp 10 on firewood duty. Splitting larger fire logs as well as small kindling, the Camp 10 proved useful with every chore it was assigned. Griffin even assessed the Camp 10’s edge retention by shaving a ferro rod to start his campfire after a full day of bushwhacking.
