Elite snipers from around the world are set to descend on Fort Bragg, N.C. to take part in the 2014 U.S. Army Special Operations Command International Sniper Competition.
According to Army Times, the competition, which hosts snipers from special operations units, federal and state law enforcement agencies, and foreign participants, begins today and runs through Thursday. It is hosted by the Army Special Forces Sniper Course.
As Army Times reports, the competition involves two-man sniper teams tackling 19 different events which will test the sniper’s abilities in terms of time, accuracy, distance, conditions and unknown circumstances. For example, one challenge involves moving through an urban environment while engaging targets from 25 to 1,000 meters.
