The announcement comes just days after SIG Sauer announced it filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Springfield Armory. It remains unclear whether this new mag would be included in the lawsuit.

The Hellcat’s new 15-round magazine delivers an astounding 15+1 capacity in a micro-compact frame. The magazine comes in black and Desert FDE. Additionally, it measures slightly longer than the previous 13-round variant.

The Hellcat comes in both standard and OSP (Optical Sight Pistol) versions. The latter incorporates slide cuts to accept small micro red dot sights. The micro 9mm ships with a patented 11-round magazine and extended 13-round magazine. Now the new 15-round model ups the capacity even more.

“This magazine offers Hellcat owners the ability to increase the total capacity of their pistol by two rounds or to carry a larger 15-round mag as a back-up,” said Steve Kramer, Vice President of Marketing for Springfield Armory. “This increased capacity puts the Hellcat platform even further beyond its competitors and means users can carry with even greater confidence.”
