As far as pistols go, Springfield has been on a roll. Back in 2019, we got the Springfield Hellcat. Then back in January, we reported on Springfield’s launch of its newest pistol, the Ronin. At under $850 retail, it caught lots of attention as well-appointed full-size 1911 in .45 or 9mm. Now Springfield Armory updates the line with the Ronin 4.25″.

Springfield Armory Ronin 4.25″ Details
Like its bigger brother, the Ronin 4.25″ comes in lightweight, rugged and reliable. Available in .45 and 9mm, the 4.25″ utilizes a forged carbon steel slide, lightweight forged alloy frame and a forged barrel.
It features a traditional barrel bushing system that matches up to the 4.25-inch match-grade barrel. The barrel comes fully supported and ramped, helping provide reliable function.
“Since its release earlier this year, the full-size Ronin has been extremely popular due to its combination of impressive features and pricing,” says Steve Kramer, Vice President of Marketing for Springfield Armory. “The new Ronin 4.25″ adds a lighter, more compact option for those who love carrying the legendary 1911.”
The Ronin 4.25″ sports an attractive two-tone finish. The forged alloy frame comes in a satin aluminum Cerakote finish. Meanwhile, the forged carbon steel slide features a hot salt blued finish. The pistol weighs 29.5 ounces overall in .45, 31 ounces in 9mm.
A beavertail grip safety with “memory bump” ensures solid engagement. Fiber-optic front and tactical rack rear sights get the shooter on target. An extended safety lever adds more versatility to the package.
Finally, Crossed Cannon laminate wood grips help tie the two-tone pistol together. A stainless steel checkered flat mainspring housing, 2nd Generation Speed Trigger, and forward slide serrations round out the package. A basepad-equipped magazine bumps overall capacity to 9+1 in 9mm, 8+1 in .45. It’s a solid package. For more even more, please visit springfield-armory.com.
