After overwhelming customer demand, Stag Arms is offering their first pistol caliber carbine with the new Model 9 & 9T series of rifles. Both of these rifles feature the 9mm cartridge, making it perfect for short range and self-defense use up to 200 yards thanks to the reduced muzzle blast, decreased muzzle flash, lower recoil, reduced over-penetration, and a heavier bullet.
According to the press release, the Model 9 & 9T both feature a 16-inch barrel with a 1/10 twist rate, blowback action, and a 6-position adjustable buttstock. Each is available in right & left hand configurations. Though the safety, charging handle, and mag release operate the same as any AR-15, Stag Arms has designed the action from the ground up. The 9 & 9T are compatible with Colt style 9mm AR magazines which feed into the integrated mag well in the lower receiver. Drop-in magazine blocks prevent the mag well from coming loose or having feeding issues. The 9 & 9T also have a specially designed hammer, magazine catch, and buffer, as well as a one-piece bolt and carrier with a modified ejection port cover and brass deflector.
The Stag Arms Model 9 is available at a MSRP of $990.00. The Model 9T, the tactical variant, is available at $1,275.00. See below for additional details.
