With an almost stockless mini Tommy Gun appeal, the Jackhammer from Standard Manufacturing is ready for a plinking good range day. Available with your choice of 10-round stick or 50-round drum magazines, or both, the semi-auto plinker is ready for extended range time. The Standard Manufacturing Jackhammer
Building on an aircraft-grade 7075 machined aluminum receiver, the Jackhammer weighs 2.5 pounds. As a result, the platform provides excellent recoil mitigation of the .22 LR round. This allows for an entire day of plinking without undue fatigue from sustained courses of fire.
The frame is housed within the polymer grip/stock and features a thumbhole grip design. Additionally, the grip features three prominent finger grooves for positive retention. Running along the sides of the housing are three M-Lok slots and three Keymod slots for attaching additional accessories.
Running atop the rear portion of the receiver is a 10-slot Picatinny rail for attaching an optic for precision shooting. Just forward the rail is the top charging handle with ambidextrous operation via the rounded knurled knob. The knob also features a cutout that acts as a front sight coupled with the cutout channel running the length of the Picatinny rail.
Featuring an air-cooled blowback operation, the Jackhammer features a 6-inch 7075 Machined aluminum barrel with steel insert, chambered in .22 LR. The barrel is threaded ½ x 28 for attaching a suppressor or other muzzle device. Correspondingly, it comes with a thread protector installed.
The Jackhammer runs on either a 10-round stick or 50-round drum magazine. Swapping out the magazine is not quite the same, or as fast, as typical mag swaps. To swap out the magazine, you pull back on the locking tab at the front of the trigger guard. Then, pull back on the charging handle and slide the magazine out the side. To place the new magazine, simply reverse the operation.
