In this class, instructors will teach women how to defend themselves by using various self-defense techniques. After learning the techniques, participants will have the chance to practice on a punching bag and then act out real-life scenarios with an instructor.
“This will boost self-confidence and show that you can get out of a situation. It will make people more aware of surroundings and how situations can occur,” Sgt. Amanda Kennedy, a RAD (Rape Aggression Defense) instructor, told Pine Log Online.
The class will be held at 10 a.m. The Nacogdoches Recreation Center is located at 1112 North St.
