STI Teams with Chris Costa for the Costa Carry Comp 2011

STI is continuing its fruitful collaboration with renowned self defense and weapons trainer Chris Costa—which has already yielded the Costa H.O.S.T. and Costa V.I.P. pistols—for the release of the Costa Carry Comp, a new 2011 chambered in 9mm and .45 ACP.

According to the press release, the STI Costa Carry Comp sports an island sight attached to the barrel instead of the slide. The compensator rests ahead of the front sight. This technology reduces muzzle jump and helps you stay focused on the front sight for follow-up shots. The compensator reduces recoil by 63 percent, while the gun uses STI’s Recoil Master dual spring to reduce recoil even more, resulting in a smooth shooting pistol.

The new STI pistol also features a 4.15-inch barrel along with a black diamond-like carbon finish as well as tan TreeBark stippled grips and a Picatinny under-rail for mounting accessories. The sights are a fixed ledge rear with a fiber optic front.

The STI Costa Carry Comp ships with two magazines—126mm and 140mm—and is available at a suggested retail price of $3,699.
