Both the TLR-7 and TLR-8 run on a single 3 Volt CR123A lithium battery. Each features an LED that delivers 4,300 candela and 500 lumens. The TLR-7 has LED-only and LED strobe modes which have a run time of 1.5 hours. The TLR-8 adds an integrated 640-660nm red laser at the bottom for aiming. The light can be used in laser-only mode, LED-only mode or dual mode using both light sources. The run time is 1.5 hours in all modes for the TLR-8, with the exception of laser-only, which can run for 18 hours.

The new TLR lights feature a one-handed, snap on and tighten interface that keeps your hand away from the muzzle of the gun when attaching or detaching, the presser says. The lights also have a safe feature which locks them so they can’t be turned on accidentally.

Boasting a black anodized finish and constructed with 6000 Series machined aircraft aluminum, the TLR-7 and TLR-8 tip the scales at 2.40 and 2.64 ounces respectively. The OAL is 2.15 inches for both options. In addition, these new models are IPX7-rated, meaning they’re up waterproof when submerged up to one meter for 30 minutes. They can also operate in a temperature range of negative 40 degrees fahrenheit to 120 degrees fahrenheit.

“These super bright new tactical lights are designed to fit a broad array of compact and full- frame weapons, making them effective for a variety of concealed carry and law enforcement uses,” said Streamlight President and CEO Ray Sharrah said. “Both models provide amazing light for a wide variety of tactical situations, whether for directly illuminating a subject or disorienting a target with the strobe mode. And the TLR-8’s red aiming laser enables users to readily identify a potential threat before taking any action.”

These lights are compatible with a wide variety of handguns by Glock, Sig Sauer, Smith & Wesson and other companies. The full compatibility list can be viewed streamlight.com.

Backed with Streetlight’s limited lifetime warranty, the TLR-7 and TLR-8 are available now at suggested retail price of $215 and $350 respectively. See the specs below.
