The Streamlight Wedge Gets a Little Brother with the Wedge XT

Back in 2021, Streamlight introduced its EDC-friendly Wedge flashlight with a thin, deep pocket carry design (details below). Now the company introduces its little brother, the ultra-compact Wedge XT. Like the original, the XT features rechargeable operation, only in a much smaller package.

Featuring a rugged anodized aluminum construction, the Wedge XT cuts 1.21 inches off the length of the original. Likewise, the polycarbonate lens helps the light balance durability and performance. And the IPX7 waterproof rating allows the Wedge XT to be submerged in 1-meter of water for half an hour and still operate.

Featuring a rechargeable lithium polymer cell battery, the XT offers 2 hours of runtime on high and 11 hours on low. The 950 mAh battery charges via the included USB-C cable in the waterproof charging port. Taking six hours to fully charge, the Wedge XT uses red and green indicator LEDs to provide charge status.

Unlike its big brother, the XT features an intuitive tail switch, providing tactile control over momentary or constant-on operation. Correspondingly, a Five-Tap lockout feature prevents unintentional activation in a bag or pocket to preserve battery life.

The Wedge XT offers two output levels, depending on operational requirements. On High, it produces 500 lumens, 1,900 candelas, with an 87-meter beam. Likewise, the Low setting provides 50 lumens, 200 candelas, with a 28-meter beam. In addition, a Ten-Tap programmable switch allows users to select from two different programs—high/low or low/high.

“Like the popular Wedge® EDC light, the unique, ergonomic design of the Wedge XT makes it the perfect concealed carry light for patrol duty, tactical maneuvers, and automotive, industrial, or DIY uses,” said Michael F. Dineen, Streamight’s Chief Revenue Officer. “It’s also perfect for outdoor uses, including hunting, camping, boating, or just about any activity where you need a dependable light on hand for instant, bright illumination.”

The Streamlight Wedge delivers 1,000 lumens up to 110 meters.

The thin, compact design enables deep pocket carry. It features an intiuitive rotating thumb switch. The light operates in two modes: 300-lumen constant on and 1,000-lumen momentary THRO (Temporarily Heightened Regulated Output).

“With its unique ergonomic design, the Wedge sets a new standard for EDC pocket lights,” said Streamlight Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Michael F. Dineen. “It’s both slim and flat so that it can be carried comfortably, features a reversible pocket clip and allows for full concealment in a pants pocket. It’s the ideal EDC light, whether for patrol duty or tactical maneuvers, outdoor uses, or automotive, industrial and DIY jobs.”

The Wedge delivers a 35-second burst of 1,000 lumens and 3,000 candela over a 110-meter beam distance on the THRO setting. In constant on mode, it provides 300 lumens at 69 meters for three hours.

The Wedge uses a 1500 lithium battery. It recharges via a USB-C cord into the light’s waterproof rear socket. Red and green LEDs indicate charging status.

The unit features a rugged anodized aluminum body. It measures a mere 5.46 inches long overall and weighs 3.3 ounces. The light comes IPX7-rated for waterproof operation to one meter. It also resists impact.
