Handmade in Finland, the Traverse Alpha meets the toughest U.S. Military standards while offering a robust set of hunting- and fishing-specific features. Unique to Suunto, the new automatic shot recognition feature uses the integrated accelerometer to detect when a shot is fired and automatically creates a point of interest (POI) based on that location.

In addition to its integrated GPS/GLONASS route navigation, the Traverse Alpha also includes unique POI types that record important locations such as animal prints, signs of bedding, and tree stand or fishing locations to allow for easy navigation back to relevant areas. Functions including breadcrumb trail, a digital compass with tilt compensation, and FusedAlti — a unique combination of GPS and barometric altitude — assist with navigation in unknown territory.

Using Suunto’s online mapping platform, Movescount, sportsmen can utilize detailed topographic maps featuring elevation data to accurately track shot distance and elevation, and create altitude profiles and waypoints.

A customizable red backlight, for low light situations, and vibration alerts allow users to go undetected in the backcountry.

Tested against the military standard MIL-STD-819G, Suunto designs every Traverse watch for action as well as everyday wear. The Traverse Alpha takes durability a step further with the addition of a knurled stainless steel bezel, water-repellent nylon strap and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass.
