The PT 92 stands as a cornerstone firearm for Taurus, launched in 1980 when the company acquired the entirety of Italian firearm manufacturer Beretta’s Sao Paulo operation. The acquisition included the technical specifications, tooling and machinery Beretta used to make the Beretta Model 92. Taurus continues to refine the military-pattern 92 semi-auto pistol, according to Taurus.
The new Brazilian walnut grip models represent the latest iteration of Taurus’ PT 92. The rich variations in the wood’s tone, depth, and distinguished grain patters give each pistol a unique, custom look and aesthetic finish. The pistols come in 9mm Luger. The platform utilizes drop-hammer-forged alloy frames in either matte black or natural anodized finish for maximum durability and strength. The alloy steel and stainless-steel slide models come in black matte or matte stainless finishes. Each features 5-inch barrels and a 17-round capacity.
