Taylor’s & Company 1875 Outlaw 9mm
We’ve been down this dusty trail before, of course. Last spring we brought you news of the single-action TC9 chambered in 9mm. Taylor’s launched four different versions of an updated 1873 Cattleman, a seriously iconic six-gun. Now Taylor’s, in an exclusive partnership with Uberti, brings the 9mm to the 1875 Outlaw, the company’s modern take on the 1875 Remington, a seminal post-war revolver.
The new 1875 Outlaw comprises a faithful take on the 1875 Remington. The solid frame remains, along with the look and feel of Remington’s 1858 percussion models. Lawmen and crooks alike, including the likes of Frank James, carried these single-actions–in .45 caliber.
“We couldn’t be more excited to bring this classic firearm reproduction to the modern gun enthusiast,” said Tammy Loy, Owner/CEO, Taylor’s & Company. “We wanted to offer this versatile caliber to broaden our audience and add a familiar caliber to a six gun. The 1875 Outlaw is a perfect complement to our very popular Lifestyle Series. This 9mm with a classic revolver look is sure to be very popular with firearm enthusiasts that want the look of a historical pistol with the performance of a modern handgun.”
The new 1875 Outlaw 9mm comes in two different barrel lengths, 7.5 and 5.5 inches. The pistols feature a smooth walnut finish, standard-size grip. It utilizes a side-loading gate and an ejector rod housed within the loading lever assembly for easy loading/unloading. The pistol features an all-blued finish, forged steel frame with a rear frame notch and fixed front blade sight. The company also offers its Taylor Tuned service. Taylor’s gunsmiths will custom tune firearms to order.
The 1875 Outlaw retails for $669.75. For even more info, please visit taylorsfirearms.com.

Editor’s Take:
OK, this is going to sound like a straight up double-take: the purists will likely hate this pistol, while we around here love it. From Cowboy Action Shooting, to farm/ranch work, to bedside defender, some folks still carry a single-action. For those interested, chambering it in 9mm makes a lot of sense. The modern ammo availability, combined with the real world performance, make the 9mm king for pistoleros. So it only makes sense to offer some of these classic cowboy guns in 9mm, maybe even keeping them alive to newer shooters.
