VIDEO: First Range Test of the All-New Trijicon SRO Red Dot Sight

Trijicon has always been a name synonymous with quality optics. It’s been the gold standard on the military side of the fence for decades, with the first one being released way back in 1987. Trijicon has also become very well known for its pistol-based optic, the RMR. While some would rest on their accolades at this point, Trijicon has chosen to raise the bar once again with its newest pistol optic offering: the SRO (Specialized Reflex Optic).

What Is the Trijicon SRO Red Dot?

The Trijicon SRO is a red dot style sight specifically designed for pistols and optimized for target and competition shooting. It has a very large clear lens, and an unobstructed field of view. This enables quick, simple dot acquisition for effortless dot tracking during recoil which significantly increases shooting speed and accuracy.

The SRO uses the same mounting footprint as the Trijicon RMR; this means shooter can easily mount the sight on many popular red-dot-ready pistols and existing RMR mounts. Trijicon designed the SRO to work with suppressor height iron sights in the same way as the RMR.

SRO Features

The SRO has some new features that help make it an even bigger winner. A top-loading battery compartment allows easy battery replacement without removing the sight from the pistol. The parallax-free SRO has intuitive illumination control for dot brightness, including both manual and automatic dot brightness settings and a new brightness Lock-In feature. A CR2032 battery powers the optic for three years on setting four (of eight).

Trijicon built the SRO from 7075 aluminum, making it strong yet light. The large crystal clear lens provides a very wide field of view; it allows shooters to keep their focus on the target to improve shooting accuracy.

Available with three different dot sizes, 1 MOA, 2.5 MOA and a 5 MOA dot, Trijicon provide a dot for every need. Only a breath larger than the RMR, the SRO will be cutting its own path as a high-quality optic for competition shooters, personal defense weapons and law enforcement use.
