The Thompson/Center Encore Returns With the PROHunter!

We knew this day was eventually coming when we got wind that Greg Ritz had reacquired Thompson/Center Arms, the same company he rocketed in popularity in the early 2000s. Now Thompson/Center is really back with its first the re-launch of the Thompson/Center Encore PROHunter.

Thompson/Center Arms owns a proud legacy in muzzleloading and centerfire rifle platforms. The Encore and Contender platforms remain legendary, pioneering platforms among hunters everywhere.

Now the Encore PROHunter relaunches the brand with a single-shot, break-open design. It comes in several configurations, including centerfire, rimfire, shotgun gauges and muzzleloaders. The interchangeable barrel design gives hunters the option to buy multiple barrels to reconfigure the Encore to suit any hunting season or shooting pursuit.

The Encore PROHunter relaunches in .45- and .50-caliber muzzleloaders, with 20- and 28-inch heavy-contour, precision fluted barrels. Each barrel comes drilled and tapped for precision scopes or sight installation. The company’s Speed Breech XT technology includes Nitride coating to enable hand-removing the breech plug with a 90-degree rotation for easy cleaning.
