The Tisas Night Stalker DS 1911 Offers Double Stack Capacity

Over the past year, Tisas has been working hard to continue expanding the Night Stalker 1911 series (below). Continuing that expansion, the company brings the Night Stalker into the 2011 field with the new DS model. Not only does the new DS model feature a double stack capacity, but it also provides an optic cut.

The New Tisas Night Stalker DS 1911 Provides Double Stack Capacity

The new double-stack model is built on a premium Cerakote Platinum Grey 4140 forged carbon steel frame and slide. Providing the interface is a textured polymer grip module and flat mainspring housing with 25 LPI texturing for solid retention. Additionally, just forward of the trigger guard is a four-slot Picatinny rail for attaching a light or laser.

The grip includes a removable aluminum magazine well to help facilitate faster magazine swaps. Correspondingly, chambered in 9mm, the DS provides a capacity of 17+1 rounds. Likewise, the OEM Checkmate magazine is compatible with Tisas DS, Military Armament Corp MAC 9 DS, and other STI Compatible Firearms.

The slide houses a serrated black Glock dovetail rear sight coupled with a tritium green/orange dot Tisas dovetail cut front sight. However, it also features an optic cut for the direct mount of Holosun 507k and RMSc footprint optics. In addition, the factory sights offer lower 1/3 cowitness with most optics.

Housed within the slide is the 5.55-inch 4140 forged and machined barrel with a black Cerakote finish. The button-rifled barrel features a 1:10 RH twist and includes a threaded muzzle for running a suppressor or other muzzle device. Finally, the single-action 1911 hosts an SF skeletonized trigger with a 4.75-pound pull out of the box.

Originally only offered in .45 ACP, the company has expanded the line by including 9mm and 10mm options. Other than expanding the caliber options, the Night Stalker maintains all of the features of the original launch.

The Tisas Night Stalker 1911 Gets New Caliber Options—9mm & 10mm

Built on a full-size forged carbon steel frame, the Night Stalker series features a Platinum Grey cerakote finish. Likewise, the steel slide, with rear cocking serrations, includes a matching Platinum Grey cerakote finish. Utilizing Colt Series 70 internals, the series provides the recognizable 1911 feel and unmatched reliability.

The new design single-action trigger provides positive trigger control via vertical front grooves. Correspondingly, the ambidextrous thumb safety allows for easy operation for both right- and left-handed shooters. Likewise, the competition magwell ensures fast reloads, even under duress.

Housed within the slide is the 5-inch black cerakoted, hammer-forged steel barrel. Although the Night Stalker series was first introduced chambered in .45 ACP, Tisas has recently added two new caliber offerings. Now available in your choice of 9mm, 10mm, or .45 ACP, there is something for everyone.

Chambered in .45 ACP, as a 1911 should be, Tisas USA offers the Night Stalker 1911. True to form, the single-stack 1911 utilizes Colt Series 70-based internals. Unlike pistols in its PX9 series, Tisas forgoes the polymer construction for forged steel, in keeping with 1911 tradition. The result is a modern-ish take on the 1911 that won’t break the bank.

Constructed of forged carbon steel, the full-size frame features a four-slot Picatinny rail for attaching accessories. Housed within the all-steel frame is Colt 70 Series internals, providing the experience many are used to from a 1911. Like the frame, the slide also features a forged carbon steel construction. Both the frame and slide include a platinum grey Cerakote finish for long-lasting durability.

The rear of the slide contains wide patterned cocking serrations for easy manipulation in any condition. Additionally, the front end of the slide includes four lightening ports to help reduce the overall weight. Although it is slight, the ejection port is lowered and flared for proper ejection of spent casings.

Riding atop the slide is a Novak-style U-Night rear sight coupled with a tritium/orange front sight. Both sights feature dovetail construction for easy adjustment. Housed within the slide is the 5-inch cold hammer forged, ramped barrel chambered in .45 ACP. The barrel and all controls feature a black Cerakote finish, providing a two-tone aesthetic against the grey frame and slide.

Providing the interface are Night Stalker Stealth Tri-Cut black aluminum grips, giving the Night Stalker a modern appeal. Likewise, checkering on the front strap and mainspring housing offer a solid purchase of the grip. The grip also features a beavertail safety that works with the ambidextrous thumb safety for additional safe handling.

Just forward the grip is the contoured trigger guard with an undercut for the middle finger. Placed within the trigger guard is the Night Stalker Stealth trigger with a flat face. The Night Stalker ships with two 8-round magazines.
