TNW Firearms is now offering a kit that enables you to build an Aero Survival Rifle and Aero Survival Pistol from the comfort of home.
The ASR Homebuilders Kit includes an 80 percent upper receiver tube that requires completion, but all of the other parts are finished and ready for assembly, the company says in the press release. Included in the package are drawings and instructions to help you finish the 80 percent receiver tube, as well as an exploded view of the parts you need to assemble the lower. Both the upper and lower are machined from 6061-T6 aluminum.
The rifle kit comes with a 16.25-inch barrel, while the pistol kit comes standard with an eight-inch barrel, though a 10.25-inch barrel is also available upon request. The Aero Survival Rifle accepts standard AR-15 stocks, butter tubes and pistol grips, but those parts aren’t included in the kit. The TNW handguard and handguard adapter are also sold separately.
The kit ships out with a 10-round magazine and is available in 9mm Luger, .357Sig, .40S&W, 45ACP, 10mm, .22 LR and .22 WMR. All versions—except for the .22 LR and .22 WMR—use Glock pattern magazines. The .22 LR and .22 WMR versions use Remington 597 magazines. The removable barrel and convertible caliber changes makes it easy to switch between similar cartridges with a simple change of the barrel and bolt assembly.
Touted as being similar in appearance and manual-of-arms as an AR pattern rifle or pistol, the takedown Aero Survival Firearm is portable, lightweight and blowback operated for simplicity and reliability. Basically, if you want an easy-to-complete pistol caliber carbine or handgun for casual shooting, hunting and emergency situations, this is a great choice.
The MSRP for the TNW ASR Homebuilders Kit is $375.
