Actor Tom Arnold stuck his foot in his mouth recently, advocating violence in the name of racial equality. Arnold popped off on Twitter, apparently encouraging white liberals to go after Trump and company.

Tom Arnold Wants to Take Up Arms

“2nd Amendment is for everyone including black men with long guns but it’s f—ing time for us white liberal men to stand up for our brothers & sisters. Borrow our dad’s hunting rifles & go nose to nose with Trump’s gang of misfit tools. Let’s do it,” he wrote on Twitter.

The Tweet came in response to another, from a Ben Davis, describing the scene outside the White House. It included a picture of officers dawning tactical gear, with no visible markings.

The rhetoric comes just a week after Democratic senators introduced new legislation. It requires federal law enforcement officers clearly identify during while conducting crowd control.

“President Trump is trying to intimidate peaceful protestors by having unidentified and unaccountable federal law enforcement officers and members of the Armed Forces roam the streets of DC. The United States would normally condemn this tactic if used by dictators of other countries, and its use here directly threatens our democracy,” said Senator Chris Murphy, one of the bill’s sponsors, in a press release. “Americans have a right to know who is patrolling their streets, and to have recourse if their massive power is misused.”

Certainly, the Second Amendment exists for all Americans. Most in the 2A community continually support that sentiment. But Arnold here attempts a rallying cry. He invokes violence against those with contrary beliefs. And that’s not going to work out well for anyone involved.
