Trijicon DI Night Sights: New Sights Feature First User-Replaceable Fiber

When it comes to defensive shooting, most attacks happen during nighttime conditions. Therefore having a sighting system that works in low-light scenarios makes a lot of sense. The new Trijicon DI Night Sights provide dual illumination for defensive or duty pistols.

First Look at the Trijicon DI Night Sights

The DI Night Sights utilize the industry’s first user-replaceable fiber, according to Trijicon. Featuring a chemical and heat resistant fiber finished with the same proprietary technique of the vaunted Trijicon ACOG, it commands attention. The fiber couples with a tritium lamp, protected by an aluminum sleeve. Capped with a sapphire jewell, it delivers maximum durability, according to Trijicon.

The dual-illumination technology amplifies collected light. The system ensures an ultra-bright aiming pint in any light, from daylight to complete darkness.

The fiber optic and tritium vial are held in place by a sturdy housing. It utilizes machined steel for maximum durability, according to Trijicon. A threaded black steel retainer on the front sight enables quick replacement of fiber pieces. The sights come with a .078-inch green fiber preinstalled. It also ships with two green fiber replacements.

“We are excited to be able to solve the long-standing user need of a replaceable fiber in a sight that provides an aiming point in any light,” said Chuck Wahr, Global VP of Sales and Marketing at Trijicon. “It is a credit to our engineering team who consistently turns out brilliant aiming solutions.”

Customers can choose DI Night Sights with up to 16 different fiber and color combinations. Options include green, red, amber and orange fibers. Steel retainers come in white, orange and yellow Cerakote.

The subdued rear sight uses tritium inserts to provide a rapid sight picture. It works in low light and promotes front sight focus in daylight, Trijicon says. The rear sight also features an enhanced hook design to help with single-hand slide operation.

The DI Night Sights fit a wide array of pistols, with a retail price of $150. For even more info, please visit trijicon.com.
