VA Sheriff’s Office to Hold 40th Women’s Self-Defense Class

The Loudoun Sheriff’s Office in Virginia has announced plans to hold its 40th Women’s Self-Defense Workshop on Tuesday, November. 18.

According to the Loudoun Times, the class will be open to all female residents of Loudoun County over the age of 14. Space is limited to 100 participants.

“These free workshops are designed to provide women with the information, tactics, and options on how to protect themselves from becoming a victim,” said Loudoun County Sheriff Mike Chapman in a statement.

As the Times reports, the class will be held from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Northern Virginia Criminal Justice Academy, which is located at 45299 Research Place in Ashburn.

Participants are encouraged to wear gym style clothing and athletic shoes. Students will learn a variety of basic self-defense techniques through class instruction, demonstration and practice of methods taught.
