A few years ago, TangoDown introduced its Vickers Tactical GSR-01 slide racker. Essentially, it was a drop-in part that replaced the striker retention plate on the Glock 42 to allow for easier slide cycling in high-stress situations. The company followed it up with the GSR-02 for the 9mm single stack Glock 43. Next came the GSR-03 for the Glock 17, 19, 22, 23, 26, 27, 34, and 35. When Glock announced its Gen5 pistol lineup last fall, it was only a matter of time before the Vickers GSR-04 came into being. That time is now.

Building on its GSR-01 through -03 slide rackers, the GSR-04 can accommodate all currently available subcompact, compact and full size Glock Gen5 pistols, including the Gen5 17, 19, 19X, 26 and 34. The GSR-04 adds subtle, but tractable serrated wings at the end of the slide. This, TangoDown says, aids in slide retraction during “non-ideal” scenarios, including wearing gloves or sudden “tap/rack” manipulation.
Like its older brothers, the Vickers GSR-04 boasts a stainless steel & injection molded glass reinforced nylon construction. It replaces the striker retention plate in mere minutes, with no other changes necessary. TangoDown stresses that the GSR-04 won’t damage your firing pin spacer sleeve, unlike “many aftermarket aluminum retention plates.”
The Vickers GSR-04 from TangoDown is priced at $18.95.
