The two main things to note here are the fact that the Q4 TAC is both optics and suppressor ready. The gun comes with a barrel threaded in 1/2×28, as well as an added “suppressed” recoil spring to make it suppressor-ready right out of the box. Meanwhile, the slide comes with mounting plates to accommodate Trijicon, Leupold and Docter optics. It’s the same mounting plate system found on the Q5 Match pistol. The slide also comes with a LPA fiber optic front and LPA competition rear iron sight.
Chambered in 9mm, the Q4 TAC features a threaded 4.6-inch polygonal rifled barrel with a 1:10 twist. The gun also sports the PPQ “Quick Defense” trigger, which offers a 5.6-pound trigger pull and a short 0.1-inch reset. Rounding out the features are a Picatinny rail for accessories; front and rear slide serrations; ambi slide stop and magazine release; interchangeable backstrap; ergonomic non-slip, cross-directional grip surface; Tenifer coating on the slide and barrel and a matte finish.
The Q4 TAC ships with one 15-round and two 17-round magazines. The pistol measures 7.8 inches in overall length and weighs 26 ounces empty.
“The Q5 Match has been very popular and we have had a lot of interest in a 4″ more tactical version We are excited to combine a suppressor ready and optics ready pistol into a best of both worlds platform,” said Luke Thorkildsen, Walther’s VP of Marketing & Product Development, said in a statement.
The MSRP on the Walther PPQ M2 Q4 TAC is $799.
