A good guy with a gun shot and killed a masked man wielding a hatchet inside a convenience store in Washington on Sunday morning.
According to Q13 FOX News, the suspect — described only as a man in his 40s — entered a 7-Eleven on 8th Avenue South near White Center at around 5:45 a.m. armed with a hatchet, which he immediately started swinging at a customer. He then began attacking the store clerk on duty.

Fortunately, the customer, who happened to be carrying a concealed handgun, drew his weapon and opened fire, shooting the suspect. Police arrived and the man was pronounced dead at the scene. The store clerk suffered minor injuries to his stomach.
The customer who opened fire had a valid concealed carry permit and is not likely to be charged in the shooting. Q13 FOX News described the concealed carrying customer as a 60-year-old man who regularly visits that 7-11 to pick up his morning coffee.

“Fortunately, because of this customer with his weapon, this could have been a lot worse,” said King County Sheriff’s Sergeant Cindi West. “The clerk could be the one laying there dead on the floor right now.”
