Weatherby Adds 410 Bore to its Orion SxS Shotgun Line

What’s not to love about a good side-by-side shotgun? Earlier this year, Weatherby zeroed in on that sentiment with its latest offering in this category, the Orion SxS (below). The model offered classic styling and delivered smooth bird and clay sporting operation. Due to the popularity of the SxS, Weatherby is adding its first 410 bore option in decades to the line.

Scaled down from the 20-gauge model, this new option features a true 410 receiver. Like the 12- and 20-gauge models, the 410 accepts shells up to 3-inches. Likewise, the extractors ensure that you have full control over where your spent shells end up. So, you can put them in your pocket and not all over the landscape.

Staying true to the Orion SxS line, the 410 features an oil-rubbed, grade “A” straight English stock with stipling at the grip. Likewise, the slim splinter forend includes stipling for positive engagement while firing. The 28-inch barrel handles today’s modern shot selection and utilizes the Yildiz choke system. Correspondingly, the 410 includes five extended chokes (SK, IC, Mod, IM, Full).

Channeling classic side-by-side styling, the Orion SxS builds on a matte blue receiver. Coupled with the receiver is the beautiful oil-rubbed grade “A” walnut straight English stock with a slim splinter forend. As a result, the shotgun not only maintains an appealing aesthetic but allows for natural pointing and easy transition between the two triggers.

Rounds are delivered on target via the mechanical double trigger. Correspondingly, the front trigger fires the right barrel, and the rear trigger fires the left barrel. Additionally, the triggers are housed within a long tang trigger guard that adds to the aesthetics while providing strength and additional stability to the wrist of the stock.
