Wilson Combat has introduced its brand new 458 HAMR carbine for 2018. In the hype video below, the Wilson Combat 458 HAMR is touted as being the “hardest hitting, most powerful AR carbine ever produced,” packing even more punch than the .450 Bushmaster, .458 SOCOM and .50 Beowulf.

The Wilson Combat 458 HAMR is chambered in the all-new .458 HAM’R cartridge, which the company says is capable of handling pressures up to 46,000 PSI while offering up 3,000 foot pounds of energy out of an 18-inch barrel.
The gun uses “hybrid” length receivers and BCG’s that are 0.75 inches shorter than a standard AR10. Meanwhile, it’s fed from a Lancer AR15 mag.
All of this, the company says, combines to create the “ultimate heavy hitting semi-auto carbine.”
The 458 HAMR is available in two versions: the Tactical Hunter and Ultimate Hunter.

The Tactical Hunter has an overall length of 34.25 inches collapsed and 37.5 inches extended. It also weighs in at seven pounds, eleven ounces. Base price is $2,905.
The Ultimate Hunter has an OAL of 36.5 inches and weighs seven pounds four ounces. The base price on that one is $3,055.
Both have a magazine capacity of seven or nine rounds. Wilson cautions that different mods and customizations may increase the total price.
