Wilson Combat is adding to its Custom Alliance line of limited collection handmade knives with the release of the new “Dixon Fighter” knife by renowned knife maker Marcus Lin.
Influenced by the work of the legendary Robert W. Loveless — a pioneer of handmade high-performance knives from modern materials — the “Dixon Fighter” boasts a 6″ blade made of mirror polished ATS-34 stainless steel. The blade has a thickness of .190″. This knife also exhibits incredible double-hollow grinding. Meanwhile, the handle material is flat sawn, polished stabilized black walnut burl, which serves as a great contrast to the stainless steel blade. This knife has an overall length of 11″ and a weight of 8.6 oz. It also comes with a custom hand-stitched sheath. Simply put, the Marcus Lin’s “Dixon Fighter” serves as a fitting tribute to the work of Loveless.
“There is no doubt that in the world of handmade knives there was no bigger influencer than Robert W. Loveless,” the press release reads. “His legendary designs like the drop point hunter, sub-hilt fighter, chute knife and his embrace of high-performance steel and handle materials were the genesis of the current industry of handmade custom cutlery across the world. Loveless was an American institution who freely trained a multitude of young makers in his signature rakish styling and build techniques up until his death in 2010.”
The price of Marcus Lin’s “Dixon Fighter” is $1,195.00. It is currently sold out.
